2 weeks into Jaw Distraction

Quick update to add some comparison pictures from her before shot to 2 weeks post surgery.  We are in Virginia this week but too busy to do a long post today.  Will try to write an update soon, but the pics below say more than I can write...

Getting to see Faith in person, and the pictures you just posted, really make it look like there will really be good results from this last surgery! Of course, we all wish it weren't necessary for her to endure the pain afterwards, and wearing all that hardware cannot be comfortable, either. We all just hope and pray that the results will one day help her to feel it was worth what she is going through at this time. I can't imagine many other children who would/could handle it like she does.
Faith, you have such a beautiful spirit and you are so amazing! And, we must give so very much credit to your Mommy and Daddy for the way they are helping you to be able to handle all you do and still remain the sweet, cheerful and loving young lady you are!

We love you so! Mimi and Papa

I couldn't have stated my feelings any better than Mom and Dad did above. I echo them completely. Seeing Faith holding her head up with her hand and being far more quiet than in the past also spoke volumes about her experience of this recovery period. I was glad to have a chance to communicate my love in person.

Faith: I was so happy to be able to visit with you at Mimi and Papa's house and to play with the campfire together. I keep a special place in my heart just for you, so I hope I get to see you again soon after you are rested and feeling more like yourself.

Love Aunt Leslie

Mom, Dad and Leslie, thanks for your sweet comments. I'm so glad we were able to spend part of this time back home with you all. I'm sure it will mean a lot to Faith later on that you all really saw what she was going through. Just wish we could have stayed longer.
